2004 SPRING GATHERING - PORTLAND, INDIANA
APRIL 24 AND 25, 2004

A Spring Gathering is being planned for the weekend of April 24 and 25 at our site and the Women's Building at the Jay County Fairgrounds. This weekend will be a time to light the fire of the future and to see where we stand today as a people and as individuals. It will be a time to purify the land and ourselves…a time to look at ourselves and to dedicate ourselves to the future of our organization, its purpose and its goals…a time to reflect on the true meaning of being a family and working together for the benefit of all. Let us gather as a family upon the land as our ancestors have in the past to reflect on our lives, our purposes, and our future.

Sign in between 8 and 9 a.m. Saturday, April 24 at the Women's Building. Welcome Circle will be 9 a.m. We will then move to the site and prepare the fire. Bring your unfinished craft, personal or workshop projects to work on. A simple porcupine quill project will be taught. Site clean-up and planning will be during the afternoon, weather permitting. Lunch will be on your own, but a delicious dinner is included in your registration fee of $20. Special events will take place in the evening. Everyone will gather at the Women's Building at 9 a.m. Sunday, then go to the fire site for the remainder of the program. Closing Circle will be at the fire site at noon.

The registration deadline is April 16, 2004. A print-and-mail registration form is available here.

Hoosier Inn (260-726-7113), 1620 North Meridian Street at Portland is reserving a block of rooms for us April 23 and 24 for $50 for a single room and $55 for a double room, regardless of the number of occupants. This rate will be effective until April 16. Primitive camping will also be available at the site. Full hookups are available at the Fairgrounds by calling Tom Zimmerman at 260-726-8176.
